The von Hemert Group contributes part of corporate profits and personal time each year to organizations that support our beliefs and values. We support and value education as a means of promoting peace, community efforts that foster good health practices through prevention and education, and organizations that fund research to cure diseases so others will not be robbed of loved ones who have left this world too soon.

ALS Association As the only not-for-profit voluntary health agency dedicated solely to the fight against ALS, this foundation directs the largest privately-funded research enterprise engaged to uncover the mystery of a disease that affects as many as 30,000 annually. With more than 5,600 people diagnosed each year – an average of 15 new cases each day, their mission is to lead the fight to cure and treat ALS through global, cutting-edge research, and to empower people with Lou Gehrig’s Disease and their families to live fuller lives by providing them with compassionate care and support.

With your generous support, the American Lung Association is “Fighting for Air” through research, education and advocacy.   The American Lung Association has many programs and strategies for fighting lung disease such as asthma education for school-age children, tobacco control programs aimed at teens and young women, and environmental health programs promoting cleaner air.

The Positive Beadwork Project This organization enables 120+ mothers and care-givers of children with AIDS to earn a small income each week through the sales of their beadwork. The project is run in parallel with the HIV/AIDS clinic, so the benefits to the mothers are far greater than monetary income. Their conference name holders with beaded strings are a popular item. Other items suitable for conferences and events are beaded pens and key rings. Christmas products include their special Star of Hope (on a card, or packed with a tag or as a key ring), novelty Christmas pins and more.
